Run your first address check in a few minutes.

How do I run my first analysis?

Click “Start Free Location Score” (or go to /onboarding). Enter an Australian street address, choose your business type, confirm the map pin, and add monthly rent if you know it. Submit — your report is usually ready in typically 2–4 minutes. You can also start a new analysis from the Dashboard after you sign in.

Do I need a credit card to get started?

No. Your first location report is free and no card is required to start. You only enter payment details when you unlock modelled financials or buy a report pack.

What does the free report include?

Free: recommendation, competitor map, location score, data confidence. Unlock ($29): modelled P&L, break-even, costs, scenarios, PDF. Free: recommendation, competitor map, location score, data confidence. Unlock ($29): modelled P&L, break-even, costs, scenarios, PDF. City guides, suburb pages, the blog, and free tools stay free for research.

How long does a report take?

Most reports finish in typically 2–4 minutes. You can leave the page — analysis continues in the background and the report appears in your Dashboard when it is ready. If a report shows as failed after a few minutes, try again; a second run usually succeeds.

What Australian locations are supported?

Any Australian street address. Coverage for demographics and rent context is strongest in major cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide) and inner suburbs. Regional addresses may use broader trade bands when suburb-specific data is thin — the report flags lower data confidence when that happens.

Reading your report

Score, recommendation, rent pressure, and data quality.

What does PROCEED / VERIFY / AVOID mean?

Reports show a recommendation (PROCEED / VERIFY / AVOID) separate from the Location Score. PROCEED: promising fit, subject to normal due diligence. VERIFY: potentially viable, but important checks remain before you commit. AVOID: material mismatch for this concept, rent, location, or operating model at proposed terms. Changing rent, business type, or calibrating inputs may shift the recommendation.

What does the location score mean?

The Location Score (0–100) is a weighted composite across five dimensions: Rent Affordability 20%, Competition 25%, Market Demand 20%, Profitability 25%, Location Quality 10%. It measures how strong the site reads on measured inputs — not whether to sign the lease. Score bands: 60+ strong composite · 40–59 mid · below 40 weak. A high score with VERIFY means verify before you commit, not a bad location.

Should I use “Calibrate your model”?

Yes, when you can. Calibration lets you enter business-specific inputs such as average order value, operating hours, access type (for example street frontage or side street), and seating capacity. Those inputs replace generic category assumptions and usually improve modelled revenue and break-even after unlock. It takes under a minute and is optional for the free location signal.

How accurate are the reports?

Reports mix live data and modelled estimates. Competitor locations come from live map/places data. Demographics lean on ABS Census context. Rent pressure and demand reads use category patterns plus your inputs — they are not scraped lease listings. Revenue and profit figures after unlock are model estimates, not guarantees. Always verify key numbers with a commercial agent and accountant before you sign.

Why does rent relative to revenue matter?

Rent is usually your largest fixed cost and hard to reverse after you sign. As a screening rule of thumb, rent above about 12% of monthly revenue is a warning; above about 20% is a common failure pattern in hospitality. After unlock, the report shows rent-to-revenue against workable bands for your category and suburb context.

What does the break-even estimate show?

After unlock, it estimates the customers per day needed to cover modelled costs (rent, staffing, and COGS). Your projected daily customers are compared to that threshold. If you are comfortably above it, the site looks more workable; if below, the report shows the gap and how sensitive it is to rent or ticket size.

How is competitor data collected?

We look up businesses near your pin (typically within about 500 m) that match your category, using live map data. Ratings and review volume help gauge intensity. In some suburbs live data can lag — the report flags low-confidence competitor counts when detected.

What is the Executive Summary?

A short plain-language narrative at the top of the report explaining why the recommendation was reached. It draws on your actual signals — competition, demand, rent pressure, and main risks — not stock marketing phrases.

Pricing & unlock

Credits, packs, refunds, and what you pay for.

What plans and prices are available?

Your first report is free. Paid options are one-time purchases: Single Report ($29 — one unlocked location with modelled financials + PDF), 3-Pack ($59), and 10-Pack ($149). Credits from packs stay in your account and do not expire. High-volume monthly plans exist for agents and multi-site operators, but most users only need a single unlock or a pack.

How do I unlock modelled financials?

On any completed report, use “Unlock this report — $29”, or buy a pack from Upgrade / Pricing. Payment is processed by Stripe. The financial sections open as soon as payment succeeds.

Can I get a refund?

Unused credits: full refund within 7 days of purchase if you have not generated a report from that payment. Broken reports: rerun, credit, or refund review within 14 days. See Refund Policy. Contact hello@locatalyze.com with your account email if you need help.

Open refund policy

Do deleted reports restore my free quota?

No. The free quota counts analyses you have run, not reports you still store. Deleting a report does not restore a free run.

Can I cancel a subscription?

If you have a high-volume monthly subscription, cancel anytime from Profile. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. Report packs are not subscriptions — unused credits remain until you use them.

Using your reports

PDF, compare, share, and status updates.

Do I get an email when my report is ready?

Yes. When analysis completes, we email your account address with the recommendation, headline score, and a link back to the report. Modelled financial figures appear in that email only after the report is unlocked.

Can I download a PDF?

Yes, on unlocked reports (single unlock or pack credit). Use Download on the report page. The PDF is a decision memo — recommendation, scores, modelled P&L, break-even, scenarios, and competition context — with clear estimate disclaimers.

Can I compare multiple locations?

Yes. With two or more unlocked reports, open Location Comparison and place up to three side by side — recommendation, location score, modelled revenue/profit, break-even, and score breakdown. A 3-Pack is the usual way to unlock a shortlist for comparison.

Can I share a report with someone who has no account?

Yes. Use Share on the report to create a public link. Anyone with the link can view it without signing in. Financial sections only appear if that report is unlocked. You can revoke the link anytime from the report page.

Why is my report still processing?

Most runs finish in typically 2–4 minutes. The system gathers competitor, location, demand, and financial signals, then compiles the memo. Keep the tab open or come back via Dashboard. If status is still stuck after several minutes, refresh once; if it failed, resubmit the same address.

What is Location Watch?

After you have a Locatalyze report, Location Watch helps you keep an eye on the area — weekly checks for candidate competitor signals and report freshness in your dashboard. Lite Watch is available with an eligible report. Location Watch Plus (paid early access) adds deeper monitoring where enabled.

Location Watch

What is Expert Business Review?

An optional human review for high-stakes decisions: a written commercial review of one new location or one existing-business purchase file, plus a short consultation with an experienced multi-site operator. It is decision-support — not legal, accounting, valuation, or a success guarantee.

Expert Business Review

Where can I read the full methodology?

The Methodology page explains how scores, recommendations, data sources, and modelled economics work — including what is measured versus estimated. Start there if you need the technical write-up behind a report.

Can I analyse locations outside Australia?

Not yet. Locatalyze is built for Australian leases — demographics, rent context, and competitor categories are calibrated for Australia. International coverage is on the roadmap.
